On the Alertathon day (28-10-2018), when myself and my co-volunteers Hema, Santhosh, Nandhini and Saran raj were returning back home in my car, we saw a huge crowd at one of the Ashok Nagar signals, we noticed that it was an accident and we immediately went to the spot to help.
The police were already there and there was a crowd surrounding the victim. The victim was a swiggy delivery boy without a helmet, his vehicle was hit by a car. The accident happened because the delivery boy jumped the signal. As soon as we opened our first aid kit the police understood and allowed us to help the victim.
The victim was conscious and told us to call and inform his wife. It was easy to help because all of us were certified, First responders. The ambulance was already called so we decided to move the victim to a safer place. The ambulance arrived at the right time. There were wounds on his head, lips, hands, and legs. But the major wound was in his leg. The ambulance staff asked for one of us to come with them. They were asking questions to the onlookers about the accident details and if anyone had informed his family, we explained the entire scenario and helped the victim to get on to the stretcher. The victim was taken to KK Nagar hospital. Thanks to Alert for equipping us in safety and first aid.
