Chairman - ALERT
Mr. V. M. Muralidharan, fondly addressed as Mike, is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at ALERT and is the Former Chairman of the renowned Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai. He was the first member from the Founder Late. V. L. Ethiraj’s family to don this role.
At present, he is the Chief Operating Officer at the Bahwan CyberTek Group. Mike is also an EC Member at SICCI, Panel Member, TN Education Panel at FICCI, Charter Member at TiE Chennai and a Member of The Chennai Angels.
Mike has received various recognitions including the prestigious ‘Edupreneur of the Year’ award in 2015, presented by His Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu, in recognition of his commitment & contribution to the cause of Women’s Education in India, recipient of the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the Lions International and a Distinguished Alumnus Awardee of the prestigious College of Engineering, Guindy.

Founder Trustee - ALERT
Ms. Kala Balasundaram, the Founder Trustee and President of ALERT is an IT management professional, who brings along a wealth of knowledge on varied fields of businesses. Until recently, she was working for a leading multinational as the Regional lead for operations. With over 2 decades of industry experience, she has adorned many roles in the IT industry and has managed several key accounts within the regions of central and eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Caucasian Republics and India.
Apart from all this, her passion towards serving the society in every way possibly makes her unique. She is a firm believer in the Corporate Social Responsibility of organizations and has demonstrated it through a number of initiatives that have grown to become mainstream CSR projects for large organizations. While at Xansa (Steria), a multi-national organization, she had been instrumental in initiating the adoption of Kilpauk medical hospital burns ward unit, which has grown to a full-sized project, managed and executed by Xansa. Apart from being a successful professional what sets her apart is her sensitivity and commitment towards the society around.

Co-Founder & Managing Trustee - ALERT
Mr. Rajesh R. Trivedi, the Managing Trustee of ALERT is a Management Professional with extensive consultancy experience in IT transformation across businesses to global corporate houses. A firm believer in generating value, whether business or social, he has been mentored by the greatest of minds in strategic thinking from the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth, USA and Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher learning, India.
In his corporate career, he has donned many hats across the spectrum of business such as strategic leadership, delivery management, business development, solution architecture across India, USA and the UK.
Rajesh has been a recipient of awards for delivery excellence and Global corporate diversity inclusion summit awards from Ford Motor Company, USA. Known for his analytical thinking and public speaking, he is an opinion leader par excellence.
The cause of “saving lives” being the calling, he quit his corporate career to spearhead ALERT, after leading it voluntarily from its founding days. Also, in an entrepreneurial drive, he has currently also taken to ideating and building sustainable solutions in healthcare. Under his leadership, ALERT has forged MoUs with Governments of Tamilnadu & Karnataka, Indian Medical Association, The Academy of Clinical Training, Indian Institute of Technology, Tata Trusts and Apollo Group of Hospitals. He has been instrumental in setting up India’s first Simulation Lab in emergency response management for a common man. He has been an opinion leader to the advocacy of ‘Good Samaritan Law’ at a national level. ‘alert VoICE’, a community driven technology based first response solution is a brainchild of his, that is listed in the top 120 social ventures to watch for in Asia by the National University of Singapore. He is also a member of the core committee under the chairmanship of the Department of Health, Government of India that is responsible for developing a training framework in emergency response in and for India, along with the World Health Organization and AIIMS. He has had the good fortune of being personally appreciated, guided and directed on the credo of ALERT by the former President of India, Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam.
A voracious reader, he has a way with the pen in writing as well. As a musician, he lets his heart express through many instruments such as the Violin, Tabla, Naal and the Cojun and firmly believes that there is no better bridge between the humans of the world, than music.

Independent Trustee - ALERT
Dr.Veerappan, an independent Trustee of ALERT is the Co-founder and VP-operations of Tessolve. He brings with him 33 years of varied and rich experience in companies like Wipro, Motorola, BPL Telecom etc. Apart from being an executive member of CII and Indo US ICT Working group, he also shares the honour of being the Founder Treasurer of Indian Semi Conductor Association.
Having an extraordinary passion for service for the society, Veerappan has been bestowed with the CEO Award for Community Service by Motorola. A firm believer in reinstatement of human values, he has made immense contribution to the youth, through his lectures in various universities.

Mr. Kandaswamy Bharathan
Independent Trustee - ALERT
Mr. Kandaswamy Bharathan, an independent Trustee of ALERT is the CEO of DLM Digital studios Pvt Ltd and the Executive Director of Kavithaalaya Productions, a leading production house. An alumnus of IIM, Ahmedabad, he is also the visiting faculty of the prestigious institute of management. His social bent of mind apart from being a complete professional makes him unique.
In view of the innovation and creative marketing approach, Mr Kandaswamy earned the name of ‘Cultural Ambassador’ by the Japanese media. He has been a Brand Ambassador for Indian entertainment industry in U.S., U.K and the Far East, through participation at Film festivals, international conferences and events. He was a member of Confederation of Indian Industry Delegation to the American Film Market 2003 (AFMA) which was held at Santa Monica, California.

Dr. J.S. Rajkumar
Dr. J.S. Rajkumar, a co-founder of ALERT is the Chairman of the Lifeline group of hospitals. He is a practitioner of medicine of eminence and has a lot of titles to his credit. He was the recipient of the Vaidya Ratna award from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the president of India in the year 2004. Being one of the pioneer laparoscopic surgeons of India, he has performed more than 8000 laparoscopic surgeries and he has the highest number laparoscopic bariatric surgeries in south India to his credit.
He was also a key member of India’s first liver transplant. He has a large number of national and international publications to his credit apart from co-authoring a recommended book called “Scientific Basis of Surgery Practice”. A born visionary with a social bent of mind makes him unique. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Dr. K.S. Sanjivi Award to young Doctor’s with Social Commitment (for outstanding Health and Medicare Services to Poor and Needy).

Mr. M. Balachandran
Mr. M. Balachandran, I.P.S (Retd.), is the Chief Mentor for the Reliance Retail. After a span of teaching for 4 years, Balachandran joined the Police Service in 1970. After his initial training in the Police Academy and attachment at Army at Wellington, he has served in all parts of the State of TN. His major part of Police service was in Chennai city as the Asst. Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police for Law and Order, Traffic and crime.
Having served the country as a Joint Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of Police he retired in the year 2005 as the Additional Director General of Police. After 36 years of clean, impeccable service in the Indian Police Service, he was awarded the prestigious President Medal for his Meritorious Service.

Dr. Anandkumar, a MS and PhD in Electrical and Bio medical Engineering from George Washington University, is the co-founder and CEO- Bugworks Research Inc, co-founder and chairman- Escape Velocity Accelerator India Pvt Ltd, co-founder and Chairman – I-shield, co-founder and advisor – Biomoneta, co-founder and director – Cellworks Research India Pvt Ltd and a mentor to several startup companies in the healthcare arena.
Anand also is the co-founder of India Semiconductor association, an executive committee member of Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) Bangalore, an active industry connector to the GOI department of Biotechnology and UKTI. Mr. Venkat Changavalli
Mr. Venkat Changavalli is a Management Consultant, Leadership Mentor, Teacher & Inspirational Speaker. He provides professional services for developing Business, Partnership and Leadership (BPL) through Innovation in Healthcare and Educational sectors. An MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad and B.Tech from NIT, Warangal, Venkat has over 34 years of experience including 19 years as CEO in Indian and multinational corporations of pharmaceutical, chemical, FMCG allied and Emergency Healthcare industries.
Venkat was the CEO of Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI), and under his leadership, 108 services has reached out to 11 states in less than 6 years, with 3,000 ambulances and has responded to 12 Million emergencies and saved over 350,000 lives. Ms. Usha Seshasayee is the Founder President of Suraksha, an NGO dedicated to Road Safety, with special focus on school children. She has served on the Executive Committee of Society of Automotive Fitness and Environment (SAFE), an affiliated body of Society of Automobile Manufacturers of India (SIAM).
Usha has lead several campaigns in Chennai, Bangalore and Hosur to bring awareness on Road Safety; enabled reorganisation of traffic around School Zones to prevent safety hazards and prompted safety consciousness amongst Two wheeler drivers, Auto drivers. Mr. N.T. Arunkumar is currently the Managing Director of UBS Investment Bank, leading operations in India and China and a member of the Board of UBS India. Formerly the Chief Executive Officer in D&B TransUnion Analytic and Decision Services Pvt. Ltd., a global analytics & technology company, Arun holds a Post Graduate Honors Diploma in PMIR (MBA) from XLRI Jamshedpur specializing in General Management & Systems and holds a top-rank bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Statistics from St. Joseph’s College.
He also plays the role of visiting faculty at Sri Sathya Sai University where he guest lectures on management and systems. He has created and runs the ‘Financial Technology’ program at the Institute of Financial Management & Research (IFMR), Chennai. Mr. Sujith Kumar is the Founder & Managing Trustee of Maatram Foundation which provides free higher education to meritorious students from the economically weaker section of the society.
He has over 20+ years’ experience as a practising HR professional and currently works for Infosys Ltd. He is a prominent speaker in student & industry forums and has featured in several TedX, TV and Radio Talk shows. He has delivered over 2400 lectures and spends his weekends mostly visiting colleges and inspiring young minds. Very passionate about writing, Sujith has penned his thoughts for several magazines and newspapers.

Recipient of The Change Maker Award in 2014 & Distinguished Alumni of Loyola in 2015. He also won the Pride of Tamilnadu award in 2017 for his work with Maatram Foundation.
