ALERTATHON Rules, terms and conditions
ALERTATHON participation
ALERTATHON participants should conduct themselves courteously, respect all fellow participants, volunteers, event staff, and community members, and follow the Rules of Event as outlined on the “Rules” and “FAQ” pages on the event website www.alertathon.com.
Timing Chips
All the running category participants in Chennai and Coimbatore will receive Timed BIB, and your finish time will be mentioned in the finisher certificate.
The cycling category participants will receive BIB with no timing chip. Your finish time will not be officially tracked.
Event venue
Chennai: MGR Janaki College (Tentative & may subject to change depending on the police approvals)
Coimbatore: CODISSIA campus
Cancellations, Transfers & refunds
No cancellation, transfer or refunds are possible
Entry tickets purchased after 15 April will be considered spot entries. Your NAME will not be printed on the BIB. The Timing Chip on your BIB is subject to availability if you have chosen the running category.
BIB collection
You must show a valid Government-issued photo ID while collecting your BIB at the ALERTATHON Save Lives expo on 26-Apr (Chennai) (Venue will be announced later)
If you have contributed to the “Student Ticket”, you must be a current student and show a valid college/school identification card at the expo.
You can authorise your friend/relative to collect your BIB by sending an authorisation email from your registered email to alertathon@alert.ngo and your valid photo ID card.
Contributions to ALERT’s cause
100% of your contributions will be used for ALERT NGO’s causes, and the amount paid is non-refundable.
The money you contribute will be used for a significant and charitable cause that Alert is working on: training and educating on First-Aid and CPR procedures. Please note your entry ticket can not be cancelled or transferred to another person.
Safety of all participants
Running or endurance walking could be very exciting; however, they also pose several medical risks. Our primary goal is to wish a most memorable, safe, and beautiful event participation experience for all the runners & riders across all age groups. So, we ask every participant to carefully follow and understand the event rules, exercise-related medical warnings, and risks to enjoy the experience safely.
You’ll need to walk & run etiquette at all times, including maintaining awareness of your surroundings, following traffic rules within the venue campus and following the instructions provided to you by the event director.
Participants age limit
Alertathon Chennai & Kovai – physical events
10k: 15 years
5k: 14 years
2.5k x 4 Chain of survival team Relay: 10 years
If the participant is a minor in the running events, he/she must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please only register your children if they comply with the age requirements. Children who do not qualify for the age requirements will not be allowed to start their respective runs at the start line. However, you will receive your participation medal & breakfast.
Walking, running, or cycling can be physically demanding and dangerous to your body and health. You take full responsibility for participating in the ALERTATHON event and do not hold the ALERT NGO or any of its partner organizations, members, or entities responsible for any injury or accident, even to the extent of fatal incidents.
T-Shirts & Medals
All ALERTATHON physical event participants will receive their finisher medal at the finish line.
We will distribute your T-shirt (if ordered) on the BIB distribution day
For Virtual participants
The medals and T-shirt delivery option is available only for those living in India and signed up for the Virtual event format.
Your T-shirt and Medal shipment will be initiated after 10 June 2024, and it may take up to 10 days for you to receive them. Only one courier package will be sent to the Co-Ordinator of Groups ordering T-shirts or Medals.
You will receive your T-shirt (if you ordered) as part of your Goodie bag at the ALERTATHON expo and your finisher medal at the finish line of the physical events.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct
The ALERTATHON participants may not engage in any verbal, written, or actual misconduct that is abusive, harassing, insulting, or offensive, even if it does not fall within the prohibitions outlined in the Rules of Event
