Alertathon is an annual awareness and fundraiser running event organised by ALERT, an NGO based in Chennai. This year marks the 10th edition of the ALERTATHON event.
ALERT is a volunteer-driven NGO that trains individuals to respond in emergencies with basic first aid and CPR techniques. ALERTATHON is the annual awareness and fundraiser event that supports the group’s initiatives.

Alertathon 2024, the 10th edition, will be held in the prestigious IIT-M campus on the 27-Apr-2024, Saturday at 5.30 am.

The tenth edition of ALERTATHON will be held on 27th April, 2024 (Saturday) at the IIT-Madras campus in Guindy, Chennai.

In the 2024 edition of ALERTATHON we have the following categories.

  • For >14 years age category
    • 5 KM timed distance run/walk (min. age is 14 years)
    • 10 KM timed run/walk (min age is 16)
    • 5 x 4 KM team relay (a run/walk completed by a team of 4, with each individual covering 5 KM) – please await more information on this format of the relay (min age is 14)
  • for children > 8 years and < 14 years
    • 2.5 km run
    • 2.5 km x 4 team relay – please await more information on this format of the relay (min age is 14)

By registering for the ALERTATHON, you are becoming an ambassador to our cause of raising awareness about basic first aid and CPR techniques. 

  1. All registered runners are donors who contribute to ALERT and will get entry to the run
  2. You can access a free training session that will teach and equip you with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills. 
  3. Electronic timing bib (optional in specific categories)
  4. Event Souvenir T-shirt (optional to buy)
  5. Medal upon completing the course (all participants)
