My grandfather was eating food when he choked and lost consciousness. I performed the Heimlich maneuver, which dislodged the food particle and allowed him to breathe again. He regained consciousness shortly afterward. Everyone in the family was tense, but my first-aid knowledge gave me the confidence to act and save my grandfather. This was my first time performing the maneuver, and I successfully did it.
