ALERT Simulation Lab for Emergency Response Management
i hear, I Forget. I see, I Remember. I Do, I Understand.
What is a Simulation Laboratory?
Before a trainee gets involved in an actual situation, the trainee gains skills and confidence in tackling a wide range of scenarios in an authentic simulated environment.
Various scenarios are continually configured and programmed to suit the user audience. The scenarios focus on the development of reasoning skills, communication, leadership and teamwork, in addition to the technical skills.
Simulation Methodologies
A variety of Simulation Methodologies will be adapted for use in the laboratory. They are:
Technical Skills – The set of skills that will be promoted are First Aid, CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), AED Readiness.
Incident Command – Crisis Management, Disaster Preparedness
Situational Leadership – Leading through chaos through role plays
Training Programmes at the Simulation Lab
The Facility
PEER – Personal Empowerment in Emergency Response
Objectives of the PEER Programme
To generate first responders out of lay people, with adequate skill in handling medical emergencies.
To use state of the art technology in the effective imparting of the internationally recommended techniques in emergency response
To impart skill using pedagogy such as simulations that offers near real life like scenarios to imbibe the expected behaviors of a first responder
