I am Pakathan speaking. I thank ALERT organisation and team ALERT for giving me opportunity to learn first aid. There was a circumstance recently where I applied what I was taught in the training programme. When having non-vegetarian curry food in the afternoon, my father choked on the food that got stuck in the airway and had difficulty breathing. A I was nearby and had learned first aid techniques, I used the rescue technique, meant for choking, on my father, a victim. Because of this, he recovered, was back to normal and he is alive with us today. Thank you for giving second chance at living and thanks to People of ALERT organisation. Also, I would like to thank the trainer who taught us these concepts, Mr. Karal Marks and all the people who were responsible for and helpful in imparting this life saving knowledge. Thank you for being a catalyst in saving my father’s life.
