ALERT is a volunteer-driven NGO, that empowers a common man in case of an emergency to ensure ‘Right to Life’ a reality in India! Alert has trained over 130000 people during the last 13+ years of its services to the community, in an effort towards the goal set for ALERT by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam – “To train one in every family” in emergency care Over 90% of Alerts training is offered to the general public at free and highly subsidized cost.

– Create Aware citizens who can confidently handle emergencies – Skilled First Responder network at service on demand – Laws & systems that encourage First responders Alert has institutionalized a Good Samaritan award called the Alert Being Award to recognize individuals and organizations going beyond the call of duty as A Real Life Hero – A Good Samaritan – An ALERT Being. Since 2017, Alert has awarded and recognized over 8 organizations and 40+ individuals.

Alertathon is an annual sports event organized by Alert.ngo. It’s an awareness and a fundraiser with 5k & 10k running categories. Every year Alertathon attracts close to 1000 participants. Started first in 2016 Alert has organized Alertathon in Chennai & Bangalore in its 6 editions so far. The 2021 edition which is the 7th is being planned to be a virtual event not restricted to running, but also cycling, walking and hiking, opening up participation from patrons across the globe.

What is VoICE?VoICE stands for Volunteer In Case of Emergency. ALERT VoICE is the first of its kind project in India that bridges the gap between medical emergency and the arrival of professional help with voluntary First Response. Driven by the community and based on mobile technology, it is a unique opportunity for a common man to participate in saving lives.

The ALERT VoICE Ambassadors are not only trained first-responders (trained in first-aid & CPR procedures) but also have a voice in their community and their circle of influence. They bring in their charisma & leadership skills and act as an ambassador to create messages to inspire people, manage by actively organizing & executing events, empower by becoming messengers/trainers to build awareness within their connected community and influence by being the ambassador of the cause, touch more lives & save more lives.

Now that you are part of this group, the topmost priority for you is to attend the training on First-Aid and CPR organized by ALERT NGO. You can skip this step if you are already a trained first-responder. For the rest, the date & time for the next virtual session will be published in the coming days. We will be creating your profile and publish in ALERT NGO website and in Alert’s social media pages. You will actively be promoting the cause & the Alertathon event and also encourage everyone around you to register in support of the cause. We will send you an online form to collect your profile.
